Location: Solent University Campus, Southampton
Hours: Up to 18 hours per week (Monday–Thursday), January –April (potential extension into summer term)
Rate: £50 per hour

About the Role
Join QAHE Solent Pathway College and support international students as they progress through their foundation and first-year pathway studies in Academic English and Business. You’ll deliver high-quality teaching, design effective learning materials, and guide students in developing the academic and subject-specific skills they need for success in UK higher education. Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging EAP and Business modules across a range of programmes at Levels 3 and 4.
Ensure all teaching content aligns with module expectations and programme learning outcomes.
Assess student work to appropriate academic benchmarks within agreed timeframes.
Support Programme and Module Leaders by contributing to assessment criteria, methods, and continuous curriculum enhancement.
Liaise with QAHE Internal Moderators/second markers to ensure moderation deadlines and quality assurance standards are met.
Innovate and improve teaching approaches, introducing new ideas that strengthen student engagement and learning impact.
Provide academic guidance, pastoral support, and structured tutorship for individuals and groups.
Complete administrative responsibilities such as attendance, assessment records, and sponsor reports.
Maintain ongoing professional development in line with appraisal objectives, contributing positively to team practice.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth programme delivery.
What We’re Looking For
A Master’s degree in a relevant subject (preferably in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, English, or Business).
A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, BEd, PGCert, MA TESOL or DELTA (HEA Fellowship preferred).
Significant experience delivering face-to-face EAP teaching to higher education or foundation-level international students.
Substantial experience assessing students using varied methods and working collaboratively within module/programme teams.
Ideally, experience teaching Level 3 and Level 4 Business Management content.
Strong understanding of EAP subject matter including academic writing, reading, speaking, critical thinking, and study skills.
Effective knowledge of Business topics covered at pathway level.
Confident use of VLE platforms with the ability to upload materials, support learners digitally, and maintain course information.
Awareness of module leadership communication standards, assessment principles, and internal/external quality assurance processes.
Ability to plan well-structured lessons, organise teaching content, and adapt delivery to student needs.
